Special Industry Focus: Digital Twins

In this Special Focus Issue, we explore all things digital, especially associated with digital twin, the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0.

The shift toward digitalization has only accelerated as more companies turn to digital twin, Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0 technologies to remove silos between design and manufacturing.

With the wide release of the NVIDIA Omniverse virtual platform, and moves by companies like Facebook and Microsoft, there has also been a lot of press about the Metaverse, a virtual twin of the real world where end users can do everything from play games to collaborate on new engineering projects.

In this Special Focus Issue, we look at how digital twin and other technologies are impacting design processes, and how they will change the way companies approach product lifecycle management and other functions in the near future.
